On Saturday, Latur MLA Abhimanyu Pawar fulfilled a spiritual vow by walking three kilometers in full prostration to mark the revival of a local sugar mill.
The factory, once defunct and in disrepair, has been relaunched as the Shri Nilkantheshwar Shetkari Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana in Killari. This event follows Pawar's visit to Nilkantheshwar Temple in August where he promised to undertake this journey if the mill was revived.
Hundreds of devotees, including his family and local villagers, accompanied Pawar during his 'dandvat' journey, culminating in an offering of the first sack of newly-produced sugar at the temple.
