In a grand display of cultural richness, India kick-started the 20th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage at the iconic Red Fort.

Attended by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and other dignitaries, the event from December 8 to 13 features thematic galleries and performing arts, celebrating India's cultural legacy.

Over 1,000 delegates from 190 countries are participating to nominate and review cultural elements. India's notable nomination, the Deepavali festival, is up for consideration for the global heritage list.
