Amitabh Bachchan's Ancestral Village to Get a Transformative Facelift
The ancestral village of filmstar Amitabh Bachchan in Uttar Pradesh is set to undergo major development. A Maharashtra NGO will invest Rs 1 crore in projects including roads, utilities, and community facilities. This transformation is part of a larger initiative under the Uttar Pradesh government's Matrubhoomi scheme.

The ancestral village of Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, located in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh district, is about to witness a remarkable transformation. Spearheaded by the Maharashtra-based NGO, Harivansh Rai Bachchan Prabodhan Pratishthan, the project aims to bring a slew of infrastructural improvements worth Rs 1 crore.
Endorsed by the Uttar Pradesh government under its Matrubhoomi scheme, the development plans include constructing entrance gates, concrete roads, and solar-powered streetlights, along with establishing a clean drinking water system and public parks. The initiative also envisions sanitation facilities, library renovations, and tree planting campaigns.
This initiative follows similar successful projects by the NGO in Uttarakhand and Maharashtra. The village will also see the installment of an ambulance service and a dedicated square named after renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, enriching its cultural heritage.
