In a significant tribute to India's military heroes, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Param Vir Dirgha gallery at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday. The gallery proudly showcases portraits of all 21 Param Vir Chakra awardees, recipients of the nation's highest military decoration.

The Param Vir Dirgha stands as both an educational initiative and a somber reminder of the courage and sacrifice shown by India's bravest in times of war. The gallery replaces the former display area that featured British Aides-de-camp (ADCs), marking a step away from colonial remnants by celebrating India's own legacy.

This development coincides with Vijay Diwas, celebrated yearly on December 16 to honor the Indian Armed Forces' triumph in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The commemoration underlines the gallery's mission to immortalize the spirit of Indian valor, courage, and selflessness.
