A tragic fire incident in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district has resulted in the loss of six lives, officials reported on Thursday. The incident occurred in the village of Talangna during the Boda Tyohar festival, a major annual celebration for the Hattee tribes.
The inferno is believed to have originated from a 'chula,' a traditional cooking stove, within a residence on Wednesday night, according to sub-divisional magistrate Sangrah. Talangna, a remote village devoid of road connectivity, saw the blaze devastate the area before residents could respond.
This marks the second major tragedy in Sangrah within a week, following a bus accident that took 14 lives. State Congress chief Vinay Kumar has extended his sympathies and urged authorities to deliver immediate aid.
