Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the 8th-century scholar Adi Shankaracharya's role in establishing India's identity and promoting Sanatana Dharma. Speaking at the launch of Shankaracharya's 'Granthavali' in Gujarati, Shah emphasized the scholar's extensive travel and influence on Indian spiritual thought.

Shah expressed confidence that the 15-volume collection would inspire Gujarat's youth, impacting their lives and work. Describing Shankaracharya as a 'walking university,' Shah noted his capacity to address societal questions and preserve Vedic knowledge through monasteries.

He further highlighted Shankaracharya's contributions in synthesizing ideas and providing logical solutions to doubts arising from diverse philosophical schools such as Buddhism and Jainism. The volumes, edited by Gautam Patel, are published by Sastu Sahitya Mudranalay Trust.
