INS Sudarshini, the Indian Navy's esteemed sail training ship, has set sail on a notable 10-month expedition spanning 22,000 nautical miles and stopping at 18 ports across 13 countries. This voyage, dubbed Lokayan 26, was officially flagged off by Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena at Kochi's naval base.

The journey underscores India's maritime significance, positioning INS Sudarshini as an 'ambassador at large' and fostering international camaraderie. A symbolic send-off featured the ship unfurling her sails as the naval band played. Significant stops include appearances at Escale à Sète in France and Sail 250 in the USA.

Built by Goa Shipyard Limited, INS Sudarshini is a 54-meter vessel laden with 20 sails. It serves as a dynamic platform for aspiring naval personnel to master seamanship, aligning with India's vision of MAHASAGAR. The voyage commemorates traditional trade pathways, enhancing global partnerships.
