Social Media Storm: Influencer Faces Legal Action in Indore

An influencer named Jatin has been booked by Indore police for making false and objectionable remarks against MP Shankar Lalwani in a viral Instagram reel. The accusations are linked to an outbreak of illness caused by contaminated water, involving a judicial probe for potential linked deaths.

An influencer known as Jatin is facing legal trouble in Indore for allegedly spreading misleading information about MP Shankar Lalwani. The claims arose in connection to deaths allegedly caused by contaminated drinking water, which went viral on social media.

The Indore police, following a complaint from BJP MP's representative Vishal Gidwani, registered a case against Jatin under sections 223 and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Authorities claim the influencer's actions violated an order prohibiting the dissemination of misleading information on social platforms.

The controversy ties into a wider health crisis in Bhagirathpura, suspected to have caused several deaths. Conflicting reports from Congress and a state government death audit have spurred a judicial investigation led by Justice Sushil Kumar Gupta (retd).
