In response to swirling reports about his career, popular stand-up comedian Zakir Khan has reassured fans that he's not quitting live comedy, but merely taking a short break. Speaking at an event in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, Khan emphasized his desire to spend time with people, live a student-like life, and focus on his health.

Khan's break is intended to last for approximately 1.5-2 years, though he hinted at a possible extension due to commitments for overseas tours. Back in January, Khan announced this intermission during a Hyderabad show, citing health-related and personal reasons as motivations for his decision.

On social media, Khan indicated the decision was final, urging fans to attend his shows before June 20, as this would be his last appearance in many cities for some time. He also plans a special 'Papa Yaar' tour concluding in Mumbai's NSCI Dome in June 2026, an event that he describes as more than just a performance, in tribute to fans and the comedy community.
