In an adrenaline-filled midnight rescue, a tourist was dramatically saved after falling into a 150-foot gorge while attempting to take a selfie. The incident occurred at Oosimalai Viewpoint near Gudalur in Nilgiris.

The victim, identified as Sivagurunathan from Chengalpet district, had gone missing after visiting the eco-tourism center on the Gudalur-Ooty National Highway. With dusk falling and wild animals nearby, initial rescue efforts were hampered.
