Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has honored his commitment by delivering a newly constructed house to the family of Adil Shah, the sole local casualty of the Pahalgam terror attack. Shah, who worked as a ponywallah, heroically sacrificed his life to save tourists from an attack on April 22, 2025.
The handover ceremony, organized by the Shiv Sena in Shah's native Hapatnar village, took place virtually with Shinde's participation. In-person, Maharashtra ministers Sanjay Shirsat and Yogesh Ramdas Kadam presented the house to Shah's family as a tribute to his bravery.
Adil's father, Syed Haider Shah, expressed deep gratitude for the ongoing support from Shinde and the government, including financial aid and employment for Shah's wife and brother. Syed highlighted his son's selflessness, emphasizing his unity across religious divides and taking pride in Adil's courageous actions.
