Celebrating Somnath: India's Cultural Legacy on Track

The Somnath Swabhiman Parv train journey, initiated by Delhi CM Rekha Gupta and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, aims to highlight India's cultural and religious heritage. The event involves thousands of devotees traveling from Delhi to Gujarat's Somnath Temple, showcasing the enduring faith and pride in India's historical sites.

In a symbolic journey of faith and heritage, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, launched a special train for devotees. This train, part of the Somnath Swabhiman Parv, set off from Delhi to the Somnath Temple in Gujarat on Thursday.

Shekhawat highlighted similar events being organized nationwide to commemorate the resilience of the Somnath Temple, which endured an assault by Mahmud of Ghazni a millennium ago. The Yatra's goal is to exhibit India's rich cultural history and national pride, emphasizing the timeless significance of the Somnath Temple.

Over 1,400 devotees are part of this three-day pilgrimage, which features visits to various significant religious sites. The endeavor, funded by the Delhi government and facilitated by Gujarat's local arrangements, reflects a robust partnership between the two governments, ensuring a smooth and enriching spiritual journey for participants.
