The sacred relics of Tathagata Buddha are making waves in Ladakh as a special cover commemorating their grand exposition was unveiled by the Department of Posts in Jammu and Kashmir Postal Circle.

In a ceremony graced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the revered relics were showcased as part of the 2569th Buddha Purnima celebrations in Leh. These sacred remains, first discovered in Piprahwa, Uttar Pradesh in 1898, were exhibited under the banner 'Peace Beyond Borders' in partnership with the All Ladakh Buddhist Association.

Thousands of devotees, eager to glimpse the relics, thronged the streets. The philatelic records now preserve this historic occasion, emphasizing the enduring impact of the Buddha’s teachings and their significance to the region.
