Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday hailed Operation Sindoor as a powerful demonstration of the Modi government's firm stance against terrorism through decisive military action.
Speaking at the 'Shaurya' event in New Delhi, Singh praised the unmatched courage of India's armed forces, calling the operation a 'golden chapter' in the nation's military history. Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7 last year following a terror attack in Pahalgam, targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistani-controlled territories and concluded after four days of fierce clashes. Singh underscored the soldiers' unwavering dedication and patriotism, characterizing their ethos as 'nation first and service before self.'
The minister further noted that the defence forces' valor extends beyond the battlefield, as they act as first responders during natural disasters domestically and internationally. Art and valour were celebrated together at the event, attended by top defence officials, artists, and hundreds of military personnel. Singh emphasized that military marching songs unite and strengthen soldiers, illustrating the symbiotic relationship between art and the military ethos.
