Etawah Safari Park is set for major improvements following approvals from its governing body. Enhancements include the construction of an additional leopard house and the purchase of two air-conditioned buses for tourists. The park will also see increased publicity through signage along expressways, according to officials.
The announcements were made at the 19th governing body meeting held on May 12 at Parijat Auditorium in Aranya Bhawan, Lucknow. The meeting, chaired by Principal Secretary V Hekali Zhimomi, reviewed the safari park's past fiscal year's accomplishments and laid out plans for 2026-27.
In a separate development, a lion at the park, named Vishwa, is under treatment for eye swelling and fever. Veterinarians are monitoring the lion, whose symptoms include irregular food and water intake. Experts, including Dr. R P Pandey, are involved in Vishwa's care.
