Sadhana Pass: From Battleground to Tourist Attraction

Sadhana Pass in Jammu and Kashmir, once infamous for Pakistan infiltrations, is now home to an Integrated Transit Facility and war museum. These sites celebrate Indian military history and aim to promote regional tourism while combating drug trafficking. Sadhana Pass, a site once known for infiltration from Pakistan, has transformed into a landmark of national pride. Located at 10,269 feet atop Sand Model Hill in Jammu and Kashmir, an Integrated Transit Facility and Shaurya Gatha museum have been inaugurated to honor soldiers and promote battlefield tourism.

Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, during the opening ceremony, highlighted the complex as a bridge between the military and civilians, noting its dual role in combating drug trafficking and enhancing local economy. The facility, completed in under two years, marks a significant shift towards peace and remembrance in the region.

The newly developed attractions, including historical relics and cultural exhibits, aim to draw visitors and bolster tourism, while serving as a poignant reminder of India's military past. The initiative reflects a strategic push by the Defence ministry to utilize historical sites for tourism and economic growth.
