Heat wave persists in parts of Rajasthan

Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Rajasthan with Churu and Sriganganagar districts being recorded the hottest places in the state on Thursday, a MeT official said. Churu and Sriganganagar recorded a maximum of 46.9 degrees Celsius, followed by Jaisalmer 45.4, Bikaner 45.2, Kota 45, Barmer 44.3, Jaipur 44.1, Jodhpur 42.3 and Ajmer 41.1 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperature at most of the places was recorded between 28.7 and 33.7 degrees Celsius. The MeT department has forecast dust storm, thunderstorm activity and gusty winds of 50-60 kmph in isolated places in Bikaner, Churu, Hanumangarh, Sriganganagar, Nagaur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Sikar, Dausa and Jhunjhunu districts in the next 24 hours.
