Yanks get Sabathia back; Chapman, Judge still sidelined

Sanchez, out since July 23 with a right groin strain, took batting practice and ran bases Friday and will begin a minor league rehab assignment this weekend.

--Shortstop Didi Gregorius, out with a left heel contusion, expects to be back once he is eligible to return from the DL next week. "I'm feeling way better than everybody thinks," he told reporters after playing catch Friday. "Hopefully I'll be back out there sooner than later."

Earlier in the day, the team announced that starting pitcher CC Sabathia has been reinstated from the 10-day disabled list, with right-hander Chance Adams having been optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday to make room. Sabathia, 38, missed his last start with knee inflammation and returned to face the Orioles on Friday night.

The Yankees enter Friday's contest with a 79-47 record, 9 1/2 games behind Boston in the American League East but four games up in the wild-card standings.
