China is gravely concerned about the International Atomic Energy Agency's statement regarding a plan to provide Australia with nuclear-powered submarines, the Chinese foreign ministry said on Wednesday.
"We firmly oppose the three countries coercing the IAEA into it," spokesperson Wang Wenbin said at a regular news briefing.
Under the deal, which angered Beijing, the U.S. intends to sell Australia three U.S. Virginia class nuclear-powered submarines.
