Children's Day also known as Bal Diwas in the Hindi language is celebrated on 14th November every year. The Day is celebrated in India as a tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru who was born on November 14, 1889, and known to be very fond of children. Children's Day is celebrated in schools with fondness involving functions. Google is celebrating the Day with a doodle.

Nehru used to say that children are the foundation and real strength and society. To improve the level of education, Chacha Nehru has always emphasized on proper education and guidance for children. He also supported the Russian approach for this emphasizing logical reasoning with scientific methods of teaching. He knew that narrow mindset and religious frenzy can be overcome through education only.

According to him, education not only provides information about the study of academics and scholars but also provides information about the development of art, culture and all around. Nehru helped in the establishment of the Lalit Kala Akademi and Sahitya Akademi, and he was the first President of these institutions.
