Treasury's Yellen says US government shutdown a 'risk factor' for recession

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Friday that a U.S. government shutdown would be a "risk factor" for a potential economic recession.

Asked if the shutdown could tip the U.S. economy into a recession, she told NPR: "I don't want to predict that. ... But I think it's a risk factor."
