German state tax revenue up 1.8% at $899 billion in 2023 - finance ministry

The tax revenues of Germany's federal and state governments rose by 1.8% in 2023 to 829.8 billion euros ($898.9 billion), the finance ministry said on Tuesday. The increase was well below the inflation rate of just under 6%, which the ministry in its monthly report said was due to numerous relief measures taken by the government to combat high energy prices.
In December 2023, tax revenue remained fairly stable at around 109 billion euros. In 2022, tax revenues had grown by 7.1%. ($1 = 0.9231 euro)
