"To tell a person from Kerala, that your language is inferior to Hindi is an insult to the people of Kerala," he said. Rahul also said that the idea that "India should have only one leader is an insult to every single young Indian person".

Party workers and supporters of the Congress leader turned up for his roadshow in Sultan Bathery, Wayanad. Gandhi waved to the crowd from inside an open vehicle amids slogans raised in support of the Congress party. While the Congress won 15 seats, its allies, the Indian Union Muslim League, won two seats, the Revolutionary Socialist Party won one, and the Kerala Congress (M) won one seat.
