Ivory Coast Cocoa Output Plummets by 28.3%

Main crop cocoa arrivals at ports in the top grower Ivory Coast totaled 1.508 million metric tons by June 2, down 28.3% from the same period last season. Deliveries to Abidjan and San Pedro ports between May 27 and June 2 amounted to 39,000 tons, a decrease from 36,000 tons in the previous season.

Main crop cocoa arrivals at ports in top grower Ivory Coast had reached 1.508 million metric tons by June 2 in the season that started on Oct. 1, down 28.3% from the same period of the previous season, exporters estimated on Monday.

About 18,000 tons of beans were delivered to Abidjan port and 21,000 tons to San Pedro between May 27 and June 2, for a total of 39,000 tons, down from 36,000 tons in the same week the previous season.
