Karnataka CM Proposes Renaming Ramanagara as Bengaluru South

Karnataka Chief Minister K Siddaramaiah announced on Wednesday that he intends to propose renaming Ramanagara as Bengaluru South to the cabinet. He stated that the suggestion is backed by Ramanagara district leaders, led by Deputy CM DK Shivakumar.

When questioned about the possibility of the BJP reversing the name change, Siddaramaiah dismissed the idea, asserting the confidence that the BJP would not regain power. He further elaborated on the need for district-level meetings to ensure administrative efficiency.

Addressing the issue of the ED Raid, CM Siddaramaiah remarked that it is their legal duty, and there were no objections from his side. Deputy CM Shivakumar reiterated that renaming was recommended for the future development of multiple taluks including Channapatna and Kanakapura, to align with Bengaluru's global recognition.
