A married woman has urgently approached the Delhi High Court, requesting permission for a medical termination of her 32-week pregnancy citing fetal abnormalities. The court has sought a detailed medical report from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Justice Sanjeev Narula instructed the petitioner to appear before the AIIMS Medical Board for a comprehensive medical examination. The hospital has been directed to submit its findings by July 13, ahead of a court hearing scheduled for July 15.
Legal representative Amit Mishra, on behalf of the petitioner, Mrs. A, emphasized that multiple medical opinions confirm abnormalities in the fetus, first detected via ultrasound on July 4. Given the advanced stage of her pregnancy, obtaining court approval was deemed necessary by her healthcare providers. (ANI)
