THDC India's 36-Year Milestone: Overcoming Challenges in Energy Sector

THDC India Ltd has achieved significant milestones over 36 years. CMD R K Vishnoi highlighted the company's evolution from a single hydro project in 1988 to a diversified portfolio of 4351 MW across nine projects. Notably, the company is set to venture into thermal power and pump storage solutions.

THDC India Ltd (THDCIL) has overcome numerous challenges over the last 36 years to achieve significant milestones in the energy sector, according to CMD R K Vishnoi.

Addressing around 1,700 employees on Saturday at the 'Foundation Day' event, Vishnoi highlighted the company's evolution from a single hydro project firm in 1988 to a diversified entity with a combined capacity of 4351 MW across hydro, thermal, wind, and solar projects.

Vishnoi also announced that THDCIL will soon enter the thermal power segment with a 1320 MW coal-based capacity in Khurja, Uttar Pradesh, and is in the final stages of commissioning one of India’s largest state-owned pumped storage plants of 1000 MW in Tehri, Uttarakhand.
