Miracle in Rydultowy: Missing Miner Found Alive After Earthquake

A miner, missing for over two days after an earthquake in Poland's Rydultowy coal mine, has been found alive. The magnitude 3.1 tremor caused an ejection of rocks, killing one and injuring 17. The miner is now being transported to the surface by an air ambulance.

A miner who had been missing for more than two days following an earthquake at the Rydultowy coal mine in Poland has been found alive, local officials confirmed on Saturday.

The miner, conscious and awaiting transport to the surface, was discovered after a 3.1 magnitude tremor struck 1,200 meters below ground on Thursday afternoon.

The earthquake resulted in rocks ejecting into a corridor, causing one death and injuring 17 others. An air ambulance is on standby at the colliery's gate to transport the miner for medical care.
