Uganda's Coffee Exports Surge in June

Uganda's coffee exports increased by 18.2% in June, reaching 667,037 60-kilogram bags, compared to 563,832 bags the previous year. This growth was driven by a bumper crop in major growing regions. Coffee and gold are Uganda's top exports, with coffee revenue rising to $1.1 billion in the year ending June.

Uganda's coffee exports in June saw an impressive 18.2% increase compared to the same period last year, attributed to a bumper crop in key growing areas, according to the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA).

Shipments in June rose to 667,037 60-kilogram bags, up from 563,832 bags in the prior year, data from UCDA's report showed.

Coffee and gold remain Uganda's top exports, significantly contributing to the country's foreign exchange earnings. The coffee sector earned $1.1 billion in the 12 months ending June, an increase from $846 million the previous year, the UCDA reported.
