The Ministry of Education, the University Grants Commission (UGC), and Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti have launched three new initiatives to promote Bharatiya Bhasha in higher education. The launch occurred during a workshop on 'Writing of Textbooks in Bharatiya Bhasha for Higher Education,' organized by UGC and Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti. This event brought together vice-chancellors from nodal universities nationwide.

Secretary of Higher Education, K. Sanjay Murthy, unveiled the 'ASMITA' (Augmenting Study Materials in Indian Languages through Translation and Academic Writing) project. The initiative aims to establish a dynamic ecosystem for translating and writing original books in Indian languages across various disciplines in higher education, targeting the production of 22,000 books over five years.

Murthy also introduced 'Bahubhasha Shabdakosh,' a comprehensive reference for Bharatiya languages, developed by the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) in collaboration with Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti. Additionally, the event marked the launch of the 'Bharatiya Bhasha Ecosystem for Real Time Translation Architecture,' supported by the National Education Technology Forum (NETF). The workshop saw active participation from vice-chancellors, translating to a promising future for Bharatiya Bhasha in education.
