In a stern move, West Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar has confirmed that his party will escalate street protests against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government over people's issues. Majumdar asserted that grassroots politics drives the state's political landscape, promising visible and continuous agitation on relevant public concerns.

The BJP, having faced recent setbacks in state assembly bypolls, pointed out that various factors contribute to election outcomes beyond organizational efforts which constitute only 25% of the result. Majumdar commented on the influence of other critical elements in the electoral process.

Majumdar noted the BJP's poor performance in booths with large majority communities. Concurrently, West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari accused the TMC of voter suppression, affecting over 50 lakh Hindus in the Lok Sabha polls and more than 2 lakh in recent bypolls. Adhikari announced the launch of a portal for disenfranchised voters to register complaints, aiming to spark a legal battle against the alleged democratic violations.
