Naxalite Killed in Bijapur Encounter; Arms Recovered, Details Awaited

A Naxalite was killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Friday, officials confirmed. The incident occurred in the forests of Semaldodi on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border, involving forces of the Telangana Greyhounds and Chhattisgarh District Reserve Guards (DRG).

Following the clash, the body of a male Naxalite was recovered along with a carbine, grenade, Naxal uniform, Pitthu, and Naxalite literature. An intensive search operation is ongoing around the incident site, police added. More details are anticipated as the investigation continues.

This follows an incident on Thursday where two DRG personnel were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast by Naxalites in Bijapur. Bijapur Superintendent of Police, Jitendra Kumar Yadav, confirmed that the soldiers are out of danger. The explosion occurred in the forests of Mudvendi village in the Gangaluur police station area.
