In a letter, Air India expressed sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused and thanked passengers for their patience. The airline emphasized that passenger safety was the prime consideration, leading to the precautionary landing in Russia.

The flight, originally AI-183, was re-badged as AI 1179 before landing safely in San Francisco. Air India coordinated with relevant authorities to dispatch a relief flight and provided support at Krasnoyarsk Airport through third-party assistance.
