Two Arrested After Policeman Run Over at Karnal Checkpost

Two men were arrested in Karnal, Haryana, for running over a policeman at a checkpost on Kachhwa Road early Monday morning. The officer, Sepoy Manoj, is injured and receiving treatment. The suspects fled but were later apprehended by the police patrol.

Two men were apprehended after they ran over a police officer at a checkpost in Karnal district, Haryana, early Monday morning. According to Karnal's Superintendent of Police, Mohit Handa, the incident occurred around 3:30 AM on Kachhwa Road.

Handa explained that the area was cordoned off by the police when a Creta car approached the checkpost. Instead of stopping, the vehicle ran over the policeman and fled. However, a patrolling team apprehended the driver and another passenger soon after.

"At approximately 3:30 AM, while the police had cordoned off the area on Kachhwa Road, a vehicle reached the checkpoint. The officer on duty attempted to halt the vehicle, but the driver accelerated and struck him. The patrolling team subsequently found the driver and arrested him," Handa stated. Injured officer Sepoy Manoj is currently under medical care. "We will ensure the driver receives maximum punishment," Handa added.
