The Delhi High Court on Tuesday directed Google Inc. and X Corp (formerly known as Twitter) to remove posts or content falsely alleging that Anjali Birla, daughter of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, passed the UPSC exams on her first attempt due to her father's influence. The court, presided by Justice Navin Chawla, issued an interim order for the removal within 24 hours and restrained unidentified individuals from making defamatory statements.

Anjali Birla, an IRPS officer, has filed a defamation suit in the Delhi High Court seeking the removal of social media posts spreading false information. Senior Advocate Rajiv Nayar, representing Birla, argued that the posts are defamatory and misleading, aimed at tarnishing her reputation.

The suit claims that the allegations are baseless and intentionally damaging. It highlights attempts to destroy Birla's professional reputation and create controversies against the government. Birla has also filed a complaint with the Maharashtra Cyber Cell against several Twitter account holders for violating specific sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act.
