Arunachal Pradesh Presents Ambitious Budget with Focus on Youth and Infrastructure

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein unveiled a Rs 993.08-crore deficit budget for 2024-25, emphasizing infrastructure, urban development, and human resource health. The budget, pegged at Rs 35,840.79 crore, aims to bridge development gaps and focuses on sectors such as agriculture, health, power, and skill development.

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Wednesday presented a Rs 993.08-crore deficit budget for 2024-25, focusing on infrastructure, urban development, and 'healthy human resource'.

In his speech, Mein, who also oversees Finance, Planning, and Investment portfolios, announced the budget estimate at Rs 35,840.79 crore, marking a 20.85% increase over the previous fiscal year. 'Our vision is people-centric and progressive... We are committed to fulfilling the aspirations of every person, especially our youth, women, and farmers,' he said.

The budget features significant allocations: Rs 830 crore for rural infrastructure, Rs 709 crore for health, Rs 621 crore for agriculture, Rs 337 crore for power sector upgrades, Rs 291 crore for smart urbanization, and Rs 44 crore for transport infrastructure.
