SJVN Secures 2,400 MW Pumped Storage Project in Mizoram

State-owned SJVN Ltd has received a letter of intent from the Mizoram government for the allotment of a 2,400 MW pumped storage project. A memorandum of understanding will be signed within three months for the Darzo Lui Pumped Storage Project, valued at over Rs 13,947 crore.

State-owned SJVN Ltd on Thursday announced that it received a letter of intent from the Mizoram government, granting it the 2,400 MW pumped storage project worth Rs 13,947 crore on a nomination basis.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be signed within three months between SJVN and the Mizoram government, confirming the allotment of the Darzo Lui Pumped Storage Project through the MoU route.

This marks SJVN's first project in Mizoram, with a proposed installed capacity of 2,400 MW across Darzo Nallah, a tributary of the Tuipui river. The project's estimated cost includes interest during construction and financing costs as of April 2023.
