Dilip Jaiswal, the newly appointed President of the Bihar BJP, on Friday expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will triumph in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Jaiswal's remarks to ANI dismissed the potential of the Mahagathbandhan, asserting that it would be unable to challenge the NDA's dominance.
'Regarding the Assembly elections, I can affirm that the Mahagathbandhan will not withstand against the NDA. With Nitish Kumar at the helm, we will secure a majority government in 2025. Despite losing 3-4 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, these losses weren't due to political factors,' Jaiswal stated.
Jaiswal further criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), claiming the public recognizes its true character. 'The electorate knows the real face of the RJD. They either favor Yadavs or Muslims. If they genuinely cared for Yadavs, they would have elected more qualified individuals than Tejashwi Yadav. The NDA will contest the upcoming elections with Nitish Kumar leading,' he emphasized. Jaiswal also expressed his gratitude to the party leadership for his appointment.
'I thank the party leadership for naming me the Bihar BJP chief. Leaders like the late Sushil Modi, Sanjay Jaiswal, Samrat Choudhary, and Nityanand Rai have elevated the party,' he told ANI. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appointed Jaiswal as the President of its Bihar unit on Thursday, replacing Samrat Chaudhary.
The BJP also announced new state in-charges, including Harish Dwivedi for Assam, Atul Garg for Chandigarh, Arvind Menon for Lakshadweep, Radha Mohan Das Agarwal for Rajasthan, Arvind Menon for Tamil Nadu, and Rajdeep Roy for Tripura. The Bihar Assembly elections are expected to take place in October-November 2025.
