In a tragic incident early Wednesday morning, three minor girls lost their lives in a fire that broke out at a slum in Noida's Sector 8, Uttar Pradesh, police reported. The fire, which occurred around 3:00 am, also resulted in severe burn injuries to their parents.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the blaze, initially believed to be caused by an electrical short-circuit. District Magistrate Manish Verma confirmed that the fire took place between 3:00 and 4:00 am. 'We were promptly informed, and both the police and fire brigade arrived at the scene. A forensic team is currently conducting an investigation,' stated Verma.

Verma added that five people, including the three girls, were in the shanty when the fire erupted. The girls succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. 'The three girls, who were sleeping on the bed, suffered fatal burn injuries and died in the hospital. Their father, who sustained 60 to 70 percent burns, has been referred to Safdarjung Hospital. Their mother, also injured, is reported to be out of danger,' he disclosed. Verma noted that the victims were originally from Mainpuri, and the father worked as an e-rickshaw driver. An investigation is ongoing and the government will provide compensation and support to the affected family.
