Jamia Millia Islamia Opens UG Admissions Post-CUET Results, Ensures No Academic Delay

Jamia Millia Islamia extends its UG admissions deadline to August 7, following the CUET UG 2024 result announcement. The university aims to finalize admissions based on CUET scores across 15 courses, despite a delay caused by the late result release. The academic calendar remains unaffected.

Following the announcement of the Common University Entrance Examination (CUET) UG 2024 results, Jamia Millia Islamia is hastening its undergraduate admissions process by keeping the online application portal open until August 7 to accommodate prospective students. An official from Jamia informed ANI that the merit list for undergraduate courses will be based on CUET scores. The university's admission process faced delays due to the National Testing Agency (NTA) releasing results later than expected.

The official stated that the application portal for UG course admission under CUET would remain accessible until ten days after the CUET results declaration. This extension follows the recent announcement by the NTA. Of the 50 undergraduate courses provided by the university, 15 will admit students based on their CUET scores.

Officiating Vice-Chancellor Shakeel Ahmed acknowledged a slight delay in the admissions process due to the late release of CUET results. However, he reassured that this delay would not affect the academic or semester calendar at the university. "Although our admission process will experience a slight delay, it will not be as prolonged as in previous years. Most importantly, there will be no impact on the academic or semester calendar," Ahmed emphasized.

The NTA disclosed the CUET UG 2024 results on Sunday. This year, a total of 1,347,618 students registered for the exam, including 717,000 male candidates, 630,000 female candidates, and seven transgender students. The NTA score represents a candidate's percentile rank, indicating their performance relative to others who took the test (ANI).
