Gautam Adani Pledges Rs 5 Crore for Wayanad Landslide Relief
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, has pledged Rs 5 crore to support relief efforts for the Wayanad landslide that claimed 158 lives. The Southern Naval Command has dispatched a 68-member disaster relief team to assist, as heavy rainfall warnings are issued for several districts in Kerala.

Gautam Adani, the Chairman and Founder of the Adani Group, on Wednesday expressed his condolences for the lives lost in the Wayanad landslide. He announced a financial contribution of Rs 5 crore to aid in the relief operations in Kerala.
The Wayanad landslide, caused by relentless rainfall, has led to a death toll of 158, according to the Kerala Revenue Department. In a post on X, Adani expressed his sorrow and pledged solidarity with the affected families, committing the financial aid to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund.
Meanwhile, at the request of the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority, a disaster relief team comprising 68 personnel from INS Zamorin at Ezhimala was dispatched by the Southern Naval Command. The team, equipped with medical personnel and essential equipment, reached the site the same day, with additional teams on standby. An Advanced Light Helicopter has also been deployed to bolster rescue efforts.
The regional meteorological department has predicted heavy rainfall for the coming days, issuing an Orange Alert for several districts, including Wayanad. A Yellow Alert is in place for other districts, with no warnings issued for Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam.
Kerala Revenue and Housing Minister K Rajan stated that the government is compiling a list of those affected by the landslide, with comprehensive rehabilitation measures to follow.
