The Tamil Nadu Congress President, K Selvaperunthagai, announced a ₹1 crore relief fund for Wayanad following a devastating landslide. Selvaperunthagai highlighted the gravity of the situation, with approximately 300 people missing and the urgency of bolstering rescue operations. He stressed the need for greater National Disaster Management Forces deployment and financial relief from the Union Government.

In addition, Tamil Nadu Congress MPs and MLAs plan to donate a one-month salary to support Wayanad's recovery efforts. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called on the Centre to extend all possible assistance in the wake of the disaster, which has claimed 158 lives and caused numerous injuries. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Gandhi emphasized Wayanad's ecological fragility and the need for technological solutions to prevent future mishaps.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the Rajya Sabha, stating that the Kerala government could have mitigated the landslide's impacts if it had heeded the Central government's early warnings. Shah noted the deployment of 12 National Disaster Response Force teams and reiterated the Modi government's commitment to supporting Kerala, transcending party politics. Search and rescue operations continue in Chooralmala, Wayanad, with Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel actively involved.
