Shares of Zomato surged more than 12% on Friday, following a report of a multi-fold increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 253 crore for the June quarter.

The stock traded at Rs 262.50 apiece on the NSE and gained similarly on the BSE.

Intraday trading saw Zomato shares rise up to 19%, hitting a 52-week high of Rs 278.70 and Rs 278.45 on NSE and BSE, respectively.

Zomato's revenue from operations jumped over 74% to Rs 4,206 crore in the first quarter, compared to Rs 2,416 crore last year. Costs also rose, totaling Rs 4,203 crore for the quarter, up from Rs 2,612 crore a year ago.
