A tragic incident unfolded on Friday as a class 8th student, identified as Yash, committed suicide after his mother allegedly scolded him and prevented him from playing online games, according to police reports.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Poonam Mishra revealed that Yash, who had lost Rs 2,00,000 to online gaming, was found hanging from a ceiling hook at his home. The incident occurred after his parents had reprimanded him earlier that day before leaving for work.

Upon their return, Yash's parents discovered his lifeless body. Despite the tragic circumstances, the family declined to initiate any legal proceedings or postmortem, opting instead to perform the last rites at their native place.
