Renowned Dancer Dr. Yamini Krishnamurthi Passes Away at Apollo Hospital

Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr. Yamini Krishnamurthi died on Saturday afternoon in Apollo Hospital after a long-standing battle with multiple medical issues. She was 82. A multi-disciplinary team led by Dr. Sunil Modi provided her treatment.

Padma Vibhushan Dr. Yamini Krishnamurthi, a celebrated Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi dancer, passed away on Saturday afternoon at Apollo Hospital following a prolonged battle with multiple medical conditions.

The hospital, in a statement, revealed that Dr. Krishnamurthi was under the care of a multi-disciplinary team led by Dr. Sunil Modi. 'Despite the team's best efforts, Dr. Krishnamurthi passed away this afternoon. We extend our deepest condolences to her family,' the statement read.

Born on December 20, 1940, Dr. Yamini Krishnamurthi was a public figure revered for her exceptional contributions to Indian classical dance. She was 82 years old at the time of her passing.
