Uttarakhand CM Inspects Disaster-Affected Areas, Announces Relief Efforts

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Rudraprayag to survey disaster-stricken zones. He confirmed extensive damage and announced measures to restore road connectivity and establish alternate routes. Dhami expressed gratitude to PM Modi and Amit Shah for their support and allocated funds for a statue in Khatima.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived in Rudraprayag on Tuesday to inspect areas hit by disasters. He also visited Sonprayag to examine zones affected by heavy rainfall.

Addressing the media, Dhami confirmed extensive damage to life and property in the state. He reported that road connectivity at 29 locations has been disrupted and a rescue operation has concluded. 'The disaster has resulted in significant loss of life and property. Road connectivity is disrupted at 29 locations, and landslides have occurred. District Administration, NDRF, SDRF, local police, and others have mobilized to help us recover. The rescue operation is complete. Our immediate focus is on restoring road and other connectivity. We plan to build new helipads as well,' Dhami stated.

Furthermore, Dhami announced the creation of alternate routes for the public. He expressed gratitude to PM Modi and Union HM Amit Shah for their assistance. 'Alternate routes will be established for public convenience. I thank PM Modi and Union HM Amit Shah for their support. Efforts are underway to resume the Yatra. The Heli Save of Kedarnath will start tomorrow, offering a 25% discount to passengers. The disaster management team in Dehradun is monitoring the situation,' he added.

In addition, Dhami allocated Rs 35.77 lakh for the installation of Maharana Pratap's statue at Eklavaya Residential School in Khatima. Earlier, around 150 locals were evacuated from Kedarnath to Bhimbali under NDRF and SDRF supervision. The NDRF is also relocating 161 people from Jangalchatti to Chirbasa, according to the Rudraprayag district administration.
