The Star Rating of Mines initiative, launched in 2014-15, has been instrumental in encouraging a competitive and positive environment among mine operators. This program, which evaluates mining operations within the Sustainable Development Framework, aims to promote inclusive growth while ensuring the social, economic, and environmental welfare of both current and future generations. The national recognition provided through this program has motivated miners to enhance their operations, yielding benefits for the industry and local communities.
During the event, 68 mines that have achieved 5-star ratings for FY 2022-23 will be honored for their exemplary performance. Additionally, the ceremony will mark the launch of two new modules for the Mining Tenement System (MTS) Applications: the Final Mine Closure Plan module and the Exploration Licence/Composite Licence/Prospecting Licences module.
This event will not only celebrate outstanding achievements in mining but also introduce new tools designed to improve efficiency and transparency in the industry.
