India's shooting ace Manu Bhaker made history by becoming the first Indian to win two medals at the same Olympics. Bhaker and her partner Sarabjot Singh clinched bronze in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed team event. The duo defeated South Korea's Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin 16-10 in the bronze medal playoff. Both shot consistently with regular 10s, securing India's second medal at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024.
In addition to the mixed team event, India has won four more medals in the Paris Olympics 2024. Bhaker herself initiated India's medal tally by securing third place in the women's individual 10m Air Pistol event, making her the first-ever Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in shooting.
Another notable win came from India shooter Swapnil Kusale, who clinched a bronze in the men's 50m Rifle 3P event. Additionally, a brace from captain Harmanpreet Singh and effortless saves by PR Sreejesh ensured a bronze medal for India with a 2-1 victory over Spain in men's hockey at the Yves du Manoir Stadium on Thursday.
In javelin, Neeraj Chopra narrowly missed retaining his gold medal but secured silver with an impressive throw of 89.45 meters. (ANI)
