Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive in Wayanad, Kerala, to evaluate the relief and rehabilitation measures following recent landslides. He is set to land in Kannur at around 11 am before conducting an aerial survey of the affected areas.

On the ground, the Prime Minister will visit locations devastated by the disaster. He will receive detailed briefings from rescue teams about ongoing evacuation operations and will oversee rehabilitation initiatives to ensure effective support for suffering residents.

PM Modi will also tour a relief camp and hospital, where he will interact with landslide victims and survivors. Following these visits, the Prime Minister will chair a review meeting for a comprehensive update on the incident and the relief efforts.

Massive landslides struck Chooralmala and Mundakkai in Wayanad on July 30, causing extensive devastation. The district administration reports that 226 bodies and 403 body parts have been recovered from the disaster zone. Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has urged the central government to declare the incident a national disaster.

The Kerala state government announced immediate aid for landslide-affected individuals in Mundakkai and Chooralmala. Each displaced family in relief camps will receive Rs. 10,000 in financial assistance. Additionally, adult members of affected families will receive a daily allowance of Rs. 300 for up to two individuals, with special provisions extending to three members for those with bedridden patients. This allowance will be distributed for 30 days.
