In a significant move to bolster Delhi's judicial infrastructure, the state government has sanctioned the construction of a new district court complex in Rouse Avenue, with an estimated cost of Rs 427 crore. The approval came during the Expenditure Finance Committee meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Atishi.

Atishi emphasized that speedy and accessible justice is a fundamental right, which necessitates adequate court infrastructure. She acknowledged the current burden of pending cases and stressed the government's commitment to providing sufficient judicial facilities to expedite case resolutions.

The planned District Court Complex at Rouse Avenue will house 55 courtrooms and feature modern amenities such as a library, basement parking, and a conference room. This project aims not only to alleviate the load on the judicial system but also to enhance public facilities for judges, lawyers, and citizens. Departments have been instructed to prepare a detailed timeline to ensure swift completion of the project.
